I wanted to be a detective when I was 10 years old (the mystery solving nature in me still does)! I would hold all the Enid Blyton books and Nancy Drew and Sherlock Holmes stories I read responsible to want this as a profession while growing up.
It is very difficult for me to pen down a favourite/best book, especially when you have a lot of them in the favourite category but over the years the one book that has stuck with me is Kite Runner- this was the first book which actually made me cry. It is a beautifully written, unforgettable and heartbreaking story of a friendship between wealthy boy and the son of his father’s servant. It is a shocking raw story of family ties, friendship, grief and injustice and that there is always the chance to heal the deepest wounds.
